Board of Directors

The Wisconsin Medical Alumni Association is governed by a board of directors that consists of a maximum of 25 medical alumni. There is representation from each of the four districts of Wisconsin, with up to three alumni representing each district, and up to four additional at-large members from the state. Each board member shall hold a three-year term, which can be renewed for another three-year term if they demonstrate effective leadership.

In addition to the maximum of 25 board members, the board will consist of national members who live outside of Wisconsin and are appointed by the Board of Directors. Members live in areas where there are a high number of medical alumni, such as Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco and the Twin Cities. Each national member shall hold a three-year term which can be renewed repeatedly if they demonstrate continued and active interest and effective leadership.

We encourage you to nominate yourself or an alumna/alumnus for service on the WMAA Board of Directors. Elections for vacancies are held each spring.

The Board Advisory Council is comprised of former members of the Board of Directors who have long-standing involvement with the WMAA. Board Advisory Council members serve two-year terms that can be renewed repeatedly. They do not have a vote on the WMAA Board of Directors.
